A schoolboy from south Devon is in a coma following an accident during a school skiing trip in France.
It is understood Kieran Brooks, 14, from Newton Abbot, got his clothing or backpack snagged while he was trying to get off a chair-lift in the Alps.
He became unable to breath while getting off the lift at the Chatel resort with a group from Torquay Boys’ Grammar School, its headteacher said.
His parents are at his bedside at a hospital in Annecy.
